| Are you interested in reducing energy consumption in your home? Do you know how much energy your household appliances use? Towong Shire residents can now borrow user-friendly power meters that measure the energy consumption of individual appliances.
“If you are concerned about energy consumption and want to check how efficient your fridge, heater or other electrical item is, borrow one of the easy to use power meters from Council,” said Tim Shilling of the Solar North East program. “You might be surprised to learn how much energy some appliances use and what their running costs are,” he said.
Power meters come with instructions and a worksheet and can be borrowed free of charge. To borrow a meter, call Council on 02 6071 5100 or visit Council’s Office at Corryong or Tallangatta.
Solar North East is a collaborative project across the Alpine, Benalla, Indigo, Mansfield, Towong, Wangaratta and Wodonga municipalities to support residents and businesses make the switch to solar energy. | |
