News>2013 kindergarten enrolments closing soon
| Enrolments need to be received by 30 September | | Parents of children in Towong Shire who will be eligible to attend kindergarten in 2013 are encouraged to contact their nearest kindergarten before 30 September to enrol their child.
Plans for the 2013 year at Council’s kindergartens in Bellbridge, Corryong and Tallangatta are in full swing and session times will be finalised once the enrolment process has closed and numbers can be confirmed.
Council is working with the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development toward increasing the number of hours that children can spend at kindergarten. To facilitate a possible expansion to Council’s kindergarten services, Council’s Manager Community Services, Mrs Penelope Sell, explained that the enrolment process is taking place earlier than it has in previous years.
“We need an accurate picture of student numbers for each of Council’s kindergarten programs for 2013 to finalise session times and obtain any necessary approvals from the Department of Education and Early Childhood,” she said.
“After enrolments close at the end of September, Council will be able to schedule the 2013 sessions, confirm arrangements with parents and plan for an orientation program prior to the end of this year,” said Mrs Sell.
Enrolment forms are available from each kindergarten.
