Maternal and child health centres
There are five maternal and child health (MCH) centres in Towong Shire. They provide free services to all families with children from birth to school age.
They offer:
- information, support and advice on parenting, child health, development and learning, child behaviour, maternal health and wellbeing, child safety, immunisation, breastfeeding, nutrition and family planning
- a consultation schedule based on key ages and stages of your child's development
- additional activities and appointments according to your family's needs, e.g. home visits
- links to specialist services when you need some extra help, e.g. early parenting centres
- parent groups to provide health information and opportunities to meet other parents in the local area
- a more intensive level of support for vulnerable children and families
