Council's Recovery Team are visiting communities across the Shire this June and July. These sessions will provide an opportunity for those affected by the January 2026 fires to speak directly with Recovery staff about available support, assistance, agency referrals and recovery-related questions.

Notice an issue with a road or council building in Towong Shire? Depending on the nature and location of the problem, you can report it in one of the following ways.

Council-managed roads and buildings

Councils in Victoria manage much of the state's road network, including residential streets, suburban roads, and some rural roads.

To report a problem with a local road, park or council-owned building in Towong Shire you can use the service request form below, or call or email us to speak to a Customer Service Officer. Reports sent via Snap Send Solve are also received by council.

Roads not managed by council

Major arterial roads in the Shire and many main streets are managed by the Department of Transport (via VicRoads) and not Towong Shire Council. These include;

  • Murray Valley Highway including Hanson Street, Corryong (B400)
  • Omeo Highway including Eskdale & Mitta Main Streets (C543)
  • Cudgewa Valley Road including Cudgewa Main Street (C548)
  • Lockharts Gap Road (C537)
  • Murray River Road including Tintaldra and Cudgewa Main Street (C542)
  • Benambra-Corryong Road (C545)
  • Granya Road including Granya Main Street (C546)
  • Dartmouth Road (C544)
  • Shelley Walwa Road (C547)
