Agriculture is one of the largest employers in Towong Shire and adds value to our community through employment and job creation, as well as the flow on business created by thriving farm enterprises. Through high quality land stewardship and constantly evolving best practice, Towong Shire’s agricultural sector creates clean and green grain, meat and fibre product and adds to the amenity of the Shire.

 

You can now apply for free on-farm energy tier 1 grant as part of the Agriculture Energy Investment Plan. Grants up to $50,000 are available to support farmers replace energy inefficient equipment, install more energy efficient systems and enable own-generation capacity. Anyone wanting to access one of the grants is required to have had an on-farm energy assessment. Support for the Dairy Industry

The dairy industry is currently experiencing challenging economic and seasonal conditions. The Towong Shire Council is working with the Victorian Government, Murray Dairy and the dairy industry to support dairy farmers through this period.
