Towong Shire

Corryong Circuit Trail

Corryong is a town of approximately 2,000 residents. The existing footpath network does not provide the necessary connections to facilitate off road community recreation and exercise opportunities for the community.

The Corryong Circuit Trail project will create a shared, walking and cycling trail, connecting points of cultural, natural and historical significance, and providing valuable recreation opportunities for the community.

The trail will loop the Corryong township through a combination of existing footpaths, new concrete footpaths and new sealed pathways, bridge and boardwalk, combining to establish a 4.7km trail.

The project will see the delivery of:

  • A¬†pedestrian boardwalk and bridge along sections of Cemetery Creek
  • Sealed paths along Cemetery Creek approx. 975m¬†
  • Concrete paths along roads approx. 2.2km¬†
  • Interpretive and wayfinding signage¬†
  • Landscaping

The project is funded by a $750,000 grant from the Victorian Government's Regional Infrastructure Fund, a $250,000 grant from the Australian Government's Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program, and a $25,000 grant from the Australian Government's Local Economic Recovery Fund.
