Thank you to everyone who joined us for the recent Towong Shire Poetry Workshop and Poetry Slam Heat in Tallangatta.
We were thrilled to see such a fantastic range of performances in a warm, supportive atmosphere. Special congratulations to Jan, who won with her satirical poem about committee pressures, and Asha, who took second place with a moving piece about family. Both will proudly represent Towong Shire in Melbourne at the next heat.
The event was full of encouragement and camaraderie, with many first-time performers finding their voice thanks to the workshop.
Thanks also to Australian Poetry Slam, Word Travels and Andrew Cox for hosting as well as everyone who helped spread the word to make this event a success.
