Wear Orange Wednesday on 20 May is a national day of appreciation for State Emergency Service (SES) volunteers across Australia, recognising the important role they play in supporting communities during floods, storms, rescues, and other emergencies.
Towong Shire is fortunate to have dedicated SES volunteers who give their time to help keep our communities safe. Whether it is responding during emergencies, assisting with community preparedness, or supporting recovery efforts, their contribution is greatly valued.
If you are interested in making a difference in your community, local SES units across the Shire are always looking for new volunteers. Find out more about volunteering with VICSES.
