Towong Shire Council does not accept asbestos or asbestos-containing materials at any of our hard waste or green waste sites. This includes older building materials, sheeting, and insulation that may contain asbestos.
If you’re unsure whether a material contains asbestos, it’s essential to have it professionally assessed before disposal. Never assume it's safe to dump — the health of our community, staff, and environment depends on it.
Illegal dumping is a serious offence, and those caught can face significant fines and penalties.
