The temporary Corryong Information Hub in front of the IGA supermarket will be open again on Saturday 17 January from 10am to 2pm.
- Officers from the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH) will be present and can take applications for financial assistance. If you attend and want to apply for assistance, please make sure you bring identification and banking details – both will be required to register.
- Officers from AusNet will also be there to answer electricity related questions.
- In addition, officers from Towong Shire Council will be there to answer and/or record any other questions.
Council are working through the establishment of Recovery Centres in both Corryong and Tallangatta, with further communication to be provided to the community when details are finalised.
Please note that the Wodonga Emergency Relief Centre will be closed as of 5pm Friday 16 January. We thank Wodonga Council staff and volunteers along with all agencies who supported this relief centre during the current bushfire event in Towong Shire.
Council continues to support residents who have been displaced through areas where it’s currently not safe to return. If you need this support or for any other fire related matters please contact Council on 1300 365 222, or at the Customer Service Centres at Davis Cottage, Jardine Street Corryong or the Tallangatta Council offices, 32 Towong Street which will both open again on Monday 19 January at 8.30am.
