​Australia Day 2026 award winners celebrated

Towong Shire Council congratulates the recipients of the Australia Day 2026 Community Awards, recognising the outstanding contributions of individuals, community groups, businesses and events across the Shire.

Awards were presented at locally organised Australia Day events held across Walwa and Jingellic, Corryong, the Berringama Peninsula, Mitta Mitta and Tallangatta. The awards acknowledge people and organisations who have demonstrated commitment, leadership and service within their communities.

• Citizen of the Year – Janine Dodd
• Junior Citizen of the Year – Ebony Thomas
