Heat relief update Thursday 29/1 and Friday 30/1
An extreme heatwave warning remains current for our community through until Saturday 31 January.
To help the community stay safe and cool during the current heatwave conditions, Council has:
Continued the extended opening hours for the pools in Corryong and Tallangatta until. Pools will be open from 3.30pm to 8pm for the remainder of this week.
With the support of hall committees, the following cooled halls will be open today and Friday from 10am until 8pm*:
- Corryong Memorial Hall
- Cudgewa Hall
- Eskdale Hall
- Granya Hall
- Talgarno Hall
- Thowgla Hall
- Walwa Recreation Hall
Please note these venues are open as cool places for relief from the heat, they are not official emergency relief or recovery centres.
The library in Tallangatta is also a place for community members to seek relief from the heat during the day.
