Replacement of heritage lights in Tallangatta
Replacement works for the heritage lights on Banool Road and at The Triangles in Tallangatta are set to commence next week.
Following the failure of one of the existing posts, Council responded to community feedback by making the decision to replace all six lights, rather than just replacing the one that had failed.
The project will see the six existing light fittings and posts removed, with the light components refurbished and installed on six new cast alloy steel posts. The new powder-coated posts have been designed to match the original 1950s posts, including the glass fittings, while using durable materials to ensure their longevity. Final trim colours are subject to confirmation.
New footings and electrical works will also be completed as part of the project. The installation is expected to take up to six weeks, with the lights to be commissioned once works are complete.
We appreciate the community's patience, as we acknowledge the replacement has taken longer than initially expected.
