Councillors visit CUC Ovens Murray Study Centre

Today, the CUC Centre in Corryong provides a dedicated learning and study space that supports any student who is studying any course at any Australian university (or other vocational training provider). It is not just a place you can study but one where you can connect with other students just as you would on a uni campus in Sydney or Melbourne or anywhere else.

Participation rates in tertiary education lag well behind those in the capitals and other large regional cities. In fact, regional qualifications sit at about half those in major cities. These are numbers that CUC wants to see change!

At its core the CUC Centre in Corryong helps community members gain qualifications without having to leave Corryong. So, whether you have just finished school or are of retirement age or any age at all and have thought about further study, there are several ways you can get in touch with CUC Ovens Murray and find out more and decide if it is for you:

A number of current and past Towong Shire Council employees have used the Centre and did so whilst still working. And the visit also coincided with the milestone of the 100th CUC student in Corryong - pictured here with Towong Shire Councillors are Mark van Bergen (Centre Manager) and Monique Lerchner (Education Coordinator – Corryong).
