Why is the project being undertaken?
The Bellbridge Community Facility project has its foundations in long-term strategic planning for the Bellbridge community. In 2013, Council engaged ClarkeHopkinsClarke to develop Our Bellbridge, a strategic plan that identified opportunities to support growth, enhance liveability and strengthen the township's future prosperity.
Developed through extensive research, planning analysis and community consultation, the plan outlined a range of priority projects designed to improve local amenities and encourage population growth. A central community facility was identified as a key element of this vision, recognising the importance of providing a focal point for community activity, connection and service delivery. More recent community engagement undertaken as part of the Bellbridge Boathouse project reinforced the need for such a facility.
Feedback from residents highlighted demand for a dedicated community meeting space, improved public amenities and access to basic food and beverage services. The consultation also identified a desire for a venue that could support community programs, events and social interaction, while providing facilities that enhance the experience of both residents and visitors.
The Bellbridge Community Facility Project seeks to respond to these identified needs by delivering a multi-purpose community asset that will strengthen community cohesion, improve local services and contribute to the long-term sustainability of Bellbridge.
