Traffic calming trial

About the project

Council is undertaking a traffic calming trial in Bellbridge and Tallangatta in response to community feedback, concerns and reports to Councillors about vehicle speeds.

The trial will include wide, low-profile rubberised speed humps and warning signs at Bellbridge (Lake Road and near the boat shed) and Tallangatta (three locations along Queen Elizabeth Drive). There may be slight delays during installation. Installation is expected to commence from 7 September in Tallangatta and 14 September in Bellbridge.

Project details

The trial will include the installation of:

Wide, low-profile rubberised speed humps
Warning signs
Variable Message Signs (VMS) initially displayed to alert motorists to the changed traffic conditions
Speed monitoring and traffic counters to assess vehicle speeds and traffic conditions

Traffic calming measures will be trialled at the following locations:

Lake Road, Bellbridge
Near the Bellbridge Boat Club entrance
Three locations along Queen Elizabeth Drive, Tallangatta
