Council collaborated with the Cudgewa community to create a high-level strategic document capturing community aspirations. The plan guided funding applications and streetscape works, aiming to improve safety, functionality, aesthetics, connectivity, and pedestrian amenity. Key objectives included:
-
Including priorities from the Cudgewa Community Recovery Plan.
-
Considering succession species for the Avenue of Honour following the 2019/20 fires.
-
Reinforcing Cudgewa as a destination along the High Country Rail Trail and connecting to the Art/Mural Trail.
-
Providing a unified streetscape treatment to connect key destinations.
-
Celebrating the town’s history.
-
Establishing a signage strategy for way-finding and interpretation.
The Cudgewa Streetscape Masterplan was adopted at the 26 June 2024 Ordinary Council meeting.
